Dream Holiday Destination – Update #7
I have spent the last couple of hours UV wrapping the log cabin to make it look more realistic.

I had an issue of the ends of the logs being the same as the rest of the logs, which made the whole thing look pretty stupid and unrealistic. To get by this I ended up selecting the UV shells of each end of each log and applying a separate material to them than the rest of the leg. This allowed me to find images of the ends of tree logs to texture the logs with, and by using multiple different images, it has given more variety to this model.
In the image below you can see I have a circular UV shell selected, and the image behind it is of the inside of a tree.

And in this next image you can see I have a rectangular UV shell selected, and the image behind is of the outside of a tree – the tree bark.

This method has allowed me to UV wrap everything in this model adequately, and without the need and complexities of exporting UV snapshots.
