Dream Holiday Destination – Update #5
I have UV wrapped the sled I modelled from before. I did this by assigning a checkered texture to the different parts to begin with to find any stretching areas or bad seams. I then would find a texture from textures.com and create a new material using this texture file, and assign it to the part of the model I want it for. The UVs of the object wouldn’t be usable as they were, so I would split the shape into the main faces and find the edges that connect them to the other main faces and cut them.

For the UVs shown above, you can see I have split it into 4 main faces comprised of many smaller faces. I would go around cutting and sewing faces to get them arranged into these four groups, and then I would straighten and unfold them to get these shapes. It was then a matter of sizing and placement to get the texture finished. The image below is the finished model.
