Dream Holiday Destination – Update #12

So using a free trial of ZBrush, I needed to import the model which is shown below.

I then needed duplicate it so I had 2 layers the same and hide the first layer, because that one we want to keep the same. Then I needed to reduce the poly count in the new model by using the tools given by ZBrush. The poly count is adjustable so you can find one that looks right for you. Then through the tools in ZBrush I needed to flatten the UVs of the reduced poly model to make sure it looks right, as shown below.

Once it looked right I unflattened the UVs and made the first layer visible again. The image below is of the low poly model and the high poly model overlapping. Once I was happy with this, I had to export both layers separately as .obj files.

Now we go to Substance Painter, which again I have needed to download and install a free trial of. The image below is after baking a texture map onto the low poly version of the mountain terrain.

And this is what it looks like in Maya.

I decided to colour it a bit better so I used two different premade concrete materials to give it a better look, as shown below. Unfortunately, exporting this version and importing it into Maya is still only showing the white version, so maybe I’m messing up the export.
